We have exciting opportunities for Clinical Trial Homecare Nurses to join our amazing team. This will be a flexible bank position and we currently need applicants nationally.

As a Community Clinical Research Nurse (CCRN), your responsibilities encompass providing nursing care to patients participating in clinical trials at home. This involves undertaking various tasks, including venepuncture, centrifugation, cannulation, IV and injectable Investigational Medicine Product administration, swab testing, capillary sampling, and patient monitoring. Your role also involves documenting patient care meticulously and promptly reporting any alterations in patient health or well-being to the line manager or responsible clinician while strictly adhering to the study protocol.

Accountabilities and Activities:

Provide competent and confident delivery of high-quality clinical care to all patients/participants
Attend training to safely carry out required clinical skills and follow study protocol.
Undertake ICH-GCP training and adhere to these principles.
Develop and maintain own clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic evidence-based clinical care.
Adhere to Good Documentation Practice.
Carry out delegated activities and follow clinical trial protocol and training to deliver care to patients participating in clinical trials at home.
Demonstrate a professional approach to work and act in accordance with the NMC’s code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives at all times.
Maintain own registration with NMC whilst complying with the requirements of revalidation.
Act as an advocate for the patients/participants and their families providing information, support and direction to other support services as appropriate.
Ensure all patient/participant care is documented and that all relevant records are completed accurately, and within agreed timescales, using study and company approved documentation in line with NMC, GCP and local regulations.
Accountable for reporting all activity, risks and issues in line with Study protocols and Wren Healthcare policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively, promoting open and trusting relationships.
Maintain confidentiality in line with all current legislation.
Establish personal rapport with potential and actual patients/participants and other persons involved to understand service requirements.
Escalate to line manager or appropriate referring clinician any changes in any patient’s health and wellbeing or information that requires reporting.
Stay up to date and follow correct working documents and policies set out by Wren Healthcare.
Travelling to various locations to carry out nursing activities.
Utilise lone working device following Wren Healthcare policy to ensure own safety whilst practicing.
Follow company policy relating to data management.
Work autonomously but recognise limitations and when to raise concerns across the company reporting structure.
Support the project management team by providing input on study plans and protocols.
Oversee the conduct of clinical trials in accordance with GCP guidelines.
Work with the Country Coordinators to ensure that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with local regulations.
Provide oversight, training and support to bank clinical research nurses where required.
Support the ongoing quality of the delivered service, to include facilitation of clinical audit.
