This 3-hour CPD-accredited course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to prevent, identify and manage urinary tract infections (UTIs) for better patient outcomes. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of UTIs, including their causes, symptoms, and effects on the body.
This training covers rapid identification techniques, associated medical conditions, and holistic prevention measures such as hydration and hygiene. Additionally, the course explores psychological considerations and various treatments and medications available for UTIs.
Participants will participate in practical workshops, gaining hands-on experience in testing strips and result evaluation. They will also learn about UTIs in patients with a urinary catheter and escalation processes for specialised services such as urology referral. Case studies will be used to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the training session. Upon completion of the course, participants will be empowered to provide sensitive and effective care to patients with UTIs.
